This is a research interest group under SCL that explores different modeling frameworks on flood, surges and landslides for disaster risk management.


Research Projects


Currently, there are two active research projects by the group (AY 2016-2017):

2. Storm Surge Modeling in the Philippine Setting using ADCIRC+SWAN through Parallel Computing
Joshua Frankie Rayo, Dustin Edric Ricio and Vena Pearl Bongolan, Ph.D.
This study aims to understand the dynamics of storm surges using two computational models, ADCIRC and SWAN, and tailor it in the Philippine setting, as well as to design it to compute fast enough to be able to give real-time storm surge predictions around the country.
